The real cause of most gym injuries

In my experience, the vast majority of training injuries come from three things: doing too much too soon, poor technique under fatigue, and ignoring early warning signs. Injuries are rarely a freak accident — they're usually the predictable result of ego and impatience. Managing load is your best insurance.

Warm up like it matters

A good warm-up isn't ten minutes of static stretching. Do 5 minutes of light cardio, then movement-specific ramp-up sets: for squats, work from the empty bar up to your working weight in a few jumps. This primes the joints and nervous system. The National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) — Education emphasizes progressive warm-ups over generic stretching.

Manage load and technique
